Contiga Broadcasting Corporation
Internet Broadcasting Company
March 2005 – February 2010
Contiga Broadcasting was the spin-off of Contiga Digital Entertainment, Inc. CBC faced a difficult future as there were many shakeups within management, and was the first time Christopher took on someone as a partner in a company who wasn’t a direct family member. CBC gained popularity quickly, reaching about 5 million U.S. consumers per month, and a strong reputation in the convention industry.
CBC maintained several brands over its existence, some with more impact on the industry than others. Beyond Killer Rock Radio, CBC also operated a music video streaming website in 2007.
The site’s name was Globe Shocker, and it quickly grew to 15 million visitors over two years. The site offered the highest-quality streaming music videos with minimal advertising and a practical instant-on response when users wanted to watch the video. Globe Shocker signed promotional agreements with AOL and Windows Media during its time online.
In 2008, the company added 6 more radio stations as a concept of local-oriented internet radio. While the market test was an instant hit, CBC didn’t have the staff to sustain the operations within quality guidelines. The brands were:
- Tranced Logic Orlando
- Felsen X Orlando
- Aggression Orlando
- Vapor Orlando
- Electronic Fusion Orlando
- ZenTropica
The company continuously adapted to market changes, and kept ahead of the curve on technology, working with mobile companies to improve data networks to adopting the latest streaming technologies.
CBC’s operations were eventually halted in August 2009 after Christopher encountered some serious personal issues. Then in late February 2010, the company’s assets were dispersed to Ballerz Inc.
However, the company has not been completely killed. The company remains in dormancy and is slated to return with a new plan on operations. CBC was one of the most influential companies Christopher has built, and the plans it is developing, will continue down that path for years to come.
